Vintage puffed sleeve Mexican wedding dress from 1960's fit for Vegas elopement like Whistler's The White Girl.
Whistler's portrait of The White Girl was on the cover of my childhood copy of Wilkie Collins' The Woman in White. I love mysteries & he also wrote The Moonstone, another favorite. As soon as I saw my dress, I thought of this painting. She's hauntingly lovely with her fallen flowers, like a Miss Havisham at the moment of being jilted.
